ALL HAIL THE COLOSSUS!!! Just unleashed on an unsuspecting public, the Colossus is THE be all end all Russian/Civil War Muff style fuzz. Ridiculously tweakable, insanely versatile, and packed with 10 tons of Colossal Mojo. Rich harmonic drenched chords, sweet singing leads, sludgy stoner goodness, filthy bluesy mcnasties, Pumpkin flavored raunch...you name it, it do it. It features a 3 way toggle for different EQ voicings, as well as a full range "Mids" control to help you cut through the mix in a live setting. As with all Mojo Hand pedals, the Colossus comes standard equipped in die cast enclosure, features true bypass switching, and can run off a standard 9v adapter or battery.

This thing sounds amazing. Most fuzz pedals do not fit well with my amp (Orange OR15), but this thing sings. The added mids control is superb when you just want to pop a little in the mix and the toggle switch really does change the whole character of the pedal. I was looking to get that big muff in a stadium sound in my small home recording setup and that is exactly what it delivers. I personally do not like the harsh high-end that most other muffs put out, but this one stays warm and throaty with smooth fuzzy goodness. Great job Mojo. I will be looking into your other pedals. Plus Prymaxe is the best company that I have ever done business with online. You can tell that they put their customers first. I'm a customer for life.

I have compared this fuzz to many others, and it is a must-have… I highly recommend it!!!

Our band does a lot of Smashing Pumpkins cover and this pedal does the work. Like most seasoned players, I've used the Big Muff too. Yeah it's good except for the size and some hiss but the Colossus Fuzz can a bit more.

I judge fuzz pedals on how they affect the audience when the sound first belts them in the face and I must say, the first time I gigged it, the Colossus pretty much made every person in that crowd soil themselves with joy, literally the greatest pedal I've ever had but like the other reviews pretty much state, it is not your typical fuzz.. it is something more.. it hurts people.. in the face.

If you're in the market for a versatile muff style fuzz, look no further! The "mids" control allows you to tailor the pedal to a lot of different situations, but I think my favorite feature is the bass contour switch. It lets you go from earth shaking sludge to fuzzy distortion without ever loosing that muffy vibe. I would agree with some of the other reviewers that the pedal is a little on the dark side but it's still a very clear fuzz so I don't find myself missing that extra pinch of top end much. If you like the sound of a good muff style fuzz this one is hard to beat!

This pedal sounds more like distortion than fuzz, but that was what I liked. Very dark color palette. If you like a bright sound this is not the pedal for you. It is big and dark with a great not bloom and very dynamic and expressive, but very little treble. It is warm with that kind of brown sound. Colossus is a great name for this pedal. The sound it produces is huge, but remember it is deep and heavy and dark.

I have been looking for a good sounding, reasonably priced Russian/Civil War type fuzz. This Colossus Fuzz Pedal by Mojo Hand FX nails it! I particularly like the Mids knob that allows me to pull out or reinforce the mids. Wow - great sounding. A friend recently offered me a genuine EH Tall Font Russian Fuzz for $100. While I loved the sound, Iknew my friend could get $300 or more for the pedal so I gave it back to him. I am glad I finally found this Colossus Fuzz to fill that empty spot for me!

I ordered this amazing little box based on several online videos and reputation, though I was wary since so many things can affect how it actually sounds in person. I'll just say this thing performs as advertised, maybe better. Huge, and with a flavor from the mids knob that's not available with other Muff-style boxes I've tried.
Two things I'll say - first, I do some lead stuff, but primarily rhythm work in my current band. This thing works for either, no question. Second, it is definitely a dark fuzz, and at first I was disappointed that I couldn't find a way on the controls to get it brighter - but I then found out it does great stacking with a treble booster in front of it for the times when you want to brighten the sound. Insanely great, actually!
Just get one and try it. You can thank me later!

I had the good fortune of answering a facebook post from Brad of Mojo Hand in which he was looking for an EH Big Muff Pi, which I just so happened to have, and rarely used. He offered to trade me one of his pedals for it, and at the time I wasn't sold on fuzz pedals so I asked if he had any Rook ODs available. He did, but they had just come out with the colossus in hulk green, which looked to awesome to pass up. I know it's never a good idea to get a pedal based on looks, but after reading how versatile this pedal could be, I was sold. Trading my muff in on that pedal was the best decision I've ever made. I've literally built my sound around this pedal. It's got any muff or musket fuzz sound you can comprehend, and with the 3 way switch, you can conjure up all manner of fuzzy goodness to suit your rig. It gives me HUGE saturated tones through my Hot Rod Deville 2x12, and beautiful controlled feedback. For fans of smashing pumpkins, ZZ top, Pink Floyd (yes, this pedal is THAT versatile!) the White Stripes, hell, almost any conceivable fuzz tone, this is the fuzz you want. If this was ever lost or stolen, it would be replaced immediately with the exact same pedal. As a bonus, it stacks amazingly well with an overdrive or light distortion (I use a BOSS DS-1 with the gain all the way down) for ridiculously tight metal riffage. I don't even play metal anymore but it's nice to know I could, even with a Fender amp. Another nice bonus is the added mid control, which the muff Pi was missing. If you ever have any problems cutting through the mix live, just boost your mids and rock and roll! Bottom line, if you like the sounds of the Big Muff, or any other fuzz pedal, get this one. Not only will you be able to nail that classic muff tone, but if you get sick of it, you can flip the switch and try something totally different. If you're curious, I generally keep the 3 way switch in the middle position, the tone and gain in the 3 o'clock position, mids around noon, and the volume I adjust to taste, depending on the gig. I love the quality of this pedal, and for sure my next OD will be the Mojo Hand Rook.
