Red Panda Particle Delay Granular Delay/Pitch Shifter
The Particle is a granular delay / pitch shifting pedal. It chops your signal into small grains and then does various strange, trippy, robot things to it, using the techniques of granular synthesis in real time. Results range from radical pitch and delay modulation to shimmering repeats to stutter/glitch sounds.

As someone who really likes to push the boundaries of what a guitar can sound like, I'm always on the hunt for pedals that can really do something different. The Red Panda Particle does that in spades. It offers a truly unique sound palette and encourages experimentation. I've gotten some scratchy, glurby glitchy goodness from this box that I don't think could be replicated in any other format. What's so nice is that it takes some fairly commonplace pedal effects and turns them on their ear. The reverse can do traditional reverse, but it can do a lot more as well. The delays can be tweaked into all kinds of chaos and then there's the granular synthesis. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that it can be a little noise when toggled on/off. Overall,I'd say if you looking for the unusual and unexpected, this is the pedal for you!

I am a delay afficianado. It is pretty much always on in one form or another, so needless to say I have gone through dozens of delays... even built some of my own. I feel like this is an excellent addition to my arsenal, the reverse fumnction is one that inspires me. It can be musically glitchy, it has a 'swell' effect in a lo-fi voicing. I love this... and honestly I haven't experimented much with the other modes because at this point I think I found the sound that I enjoy the most out of this pedal...

This pedal is really inspiring. If you like to explore new and weird but still musical sounds, you've got to try this. The possibilities are quite infinite.
I really love it.

It is fun and musically.
Totally awesome and have huge range of possibilities.
All modes are cool and useable.
You know, sometimes You get an multi modes device, and use only 2 of 3 function, but not with the Red Panda.
Just get one and I am sure, You will not part with it.

Yeah this pedal is amazing! Well built and awesome sound quality.
I must admit though it is not just your ordinary delay pedal and I had to spend a while tweeking the knobs and finding cool settings that work for me,especially for onstage. The knobs are sensitive and there is a whole universe of sounds when adjusting the knobs even a hair!
I found the Prymaxe demo very handy.
Anyway I used it at a gig last night and just chucked it on any old setting and, well it went off! Really insane!!I had the reverse setting kind of set up but then I just started flicking knobs around and with a fuzz and chopper, crazy! In fact I think I will have to go back and give it 5 stars. I love anything that makes my guitars sound swirly and freaky. This pedal surely delivers.
Nice work Red Panda!
Thanks Prymaxe Vintage!

What's great about this pedal is that it's essentially a delay. A good sounding delay, decently warm and spacious on basic settings. From there, things can get interesting when you start adding just the right amount of chaos.
If you've played with any of the granulator plugins out there, this pedal may be somewhat familiar. It might take some getting used to but after a month I'm still pulling out textures that are new to me. It definitely forces me to reapproach my playing in a good way.
Freeze mode is awesome, and the levels are setup to make it really playable. Hit a note, then stretch it out to infinity, with all kinds of random nuances.
What would be great is to be able to combine some of the modes. For example, randomize the pitch AND delay time AND reverse..
An effects loop in the delay feedback (like the TimeLine) would be nice too, right?
But really there's more than enough here to keep things interesting. I recommend this pedal highly!

I've only had my Particle for about 10 days so I've barely scratched the surface of this device. First of all, the reverse delay is amazing. Been using this setting while jamming with a drummer and it provides an awesome textural component that-once you get a feel for it- is dynamic and "playable". Every single setting I've tried with this pedal forces you to adapt your playing in a way that is really freeing. On the more practical side of things, the range of parameters on this pedal make it super versatile. From "ring-mod-y", to tremolo, to demented alien organ this thing is really a world of sound. One last thing: I think the use of an expression pedal with the particle is a must. The ability to control various parameters in a rhythmic fashion is probably the most fun you can have without doing something you regret.

This thing is amazing. Truly inspiring. Its as complex or as simple as you'd like it to be. I think I'll be discovering new tricks with it for years to come. It'll create sounds I've never heard anything else create. If you are looking for something cool and different to add to your setup, I can't recommend this guy highly enough!!

Fell in love with the Particle immediately! It was exactly what I was hoping for and more. Love the Reverse mode as well as the freezing capabilities. I can spend hours messing with it. Check out Prymaxe's demo, it's the best one that I have seen out there and it gives you a real taste of what you can do with this little beast. It also seems to be made really well. I can't wait to take it out to my next gig!

The particle can be a little daunting finding settings you like, but if you're into experimental music/sound, this thing is great at stuttering, reverse delays, oddball tremolo effects, and it can even be dialed in to use as a regular digital delay. Add an expression pedal or other voltage source and you have madness at your feet and excellent playing dynamics that has an adjustable threshold so you can "capture" grains of sounds depending on how hard you pick. HIghly recommended for you weirdos out there.
